Rock Art in Grapevine Canyon
Animal petroglyphs
We took a short hike into Grapevine Canyon near Laughlin NV to see some amazing petroglyphs.
We are still doing some research on what we saw but it seems like some of the art is “modern” (15th to 18th) century. That could explain the image I saw which looked like a Spaniard with a shield.
Petroglyph symbols
Still, some of them are likely ancient and could be several thousand years old. One story I read compares some of the imagery here to Asiatic runes or Chinese pictographs.
Looking out of Grapevine Canyon
The canyon is worth further exploration on a day when I’m not so worn out from prior day activities. Plus it was pretty cold and windy.
