Horseshoe Bend and Lake Powell National Golf Course
Sunset at Horseshoe Bend
Why do I have such a hard time spelling horseshoe?
Our last day in Page ended with a sunset walk out to Horseshoe Bend, the city-run parking and viewing area. Julie tells me when she first visited about 5 years ago it was just an open dirt parking lot. Now you pay $10 but the money appears to go to the city, and it is a nice lot with toilets, easy walking path, and space for bigger vehicles. I think I got a nice sunset photo with my little iPhone!
First hole at Lake Powell NGC
I also played a windy 18 (that’s the theme lately in the SW) at Lake Powell National Golf Course, a gem of a course in Page AZ. I played the white tees which were probably a bit too far up for me given the elevation. I was always hitting a wedge or shorter in to the greens on the par 4s which is my first clue.
I holed out from 89 yards on a par 4 for an eagle! I’ve had quite a few eagles before, but never in this fashion. Next up will be a hole-in-one. Some day.
